“Lakey” Rowe
Arnie Layton “Lakey” Rowe, 64, died May 21, 2009, at his residence in Reidsville. The Evans County native had resided most of his life in Tattnall County. He retired from the telephone and cable industry, and was of the Methodist faith. He was an avid outdoorsman.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Rowe of Reidsville; one son and daughter-in-law, Van and Shannon Rowe of Dallas, Georgia; one daughter and son-in-law, Valarie and Stephen Ward of Rincon; two brothers, Terry Rowe of Hagan and Thomas Rowe of St. Augustine, Florida; two half-brothers, Anthony Dunn and Chuck Dunn; three stepdaughters: Donna Kurtz, Stephanie Johnson, and Becky Johnson; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 23, at Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Bill Eller. Burial was in Brewton Cemetery.
