I was just reading the Pennings by Pam and was wondering about Farrah Fawcett remembered by fans.

Editor’s note:  Sadly, Farrah Fawcett’s death last week was overshadowed by Michael Jackson’s death.  However, she is well remembered for her “Charlie’s Angels” episodes, which were popular for many years (1976-1982).

I read in the Sentinel about the Willie Tootle family. I’m going to tell you, Mr. Clyde, that old L.C. put in the paper that you were scared of him. I am going to tell you the way that you were scared of him. If you get you a lighter knot in one hand and a brick bat in the other and hit his old hard head, you can “whup” him. If you wait four or five years, L.C. will allow that you waited until he got old.

Pam, I’d like to tell you how much I enjoyed the story this week on Sapelo Island. You featured James Maund as the site manager for the R..J. Reynolds Park. I have been connected with the Sea Island Company for many years, and I have first hand information on this. I enjoyed your article. It was very informative, and it was very well researched.

I was flipping through the channels today and happened upon one of the local churches in Reidsville. About the time I turned there, this man steps up and was introduced as a hero and starts talking about how the nation is a Christian nation, founded on Christian principles, and how the nation needs to be returned to Christian principles. I got offended. Because the last time I checked, there is nothing in the history books or in the Constitution that says that. This nation was founded on freedom of religion. If what he’s saying is the case, then where does that leave me, who is not a Christian? I would suggest that the church or at the very least the person, research his history a little bit better before he gets up and proclaims something that isn’t true. If I could do more than just call into a paper and proclaim that offense, I would do more.
