Joyce Scarboro
    Joyce Ann Griffis Scarboro, 52, died Tuesday, November 2, 2009, at her residence in Glennville.  The Evans County native had lived in this area for many years, and was a U.S. Navy veteran.  She was a registered nurse, and worked for many years at Bulloch Memorial Hospital, Georgia State Prison, Smith State Prison, and various nursing homes and detention centers.  She was a member of Daisy United Methodist Church.  She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Johnny Hendrix; stepmother, Jeanette Hendrix; daughter, Ashley Lee Scarboro; and brother, Roy Griffis.
    She is survived by her husband, Gary Scarboro of Glennville; children:  Stacey Scarboro and Heather Scarboro of Claxton and Shad Scarboro of Wayne, Pennsylvania; mother, Jacqueline Kicklighter of Claxton; and grandchildren, Thomas and Stephen Scarboro.
    Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home in Glennville.
    Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, November 5, from the Chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home, with the Rev. Rick Cason officiating.  Burial will be in Bull Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
    Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home of Glennville, Georgia, is in charge of the arrangements.
