Jimmy Edenfield James “Jimmy” Alexander Edenfield, age 62, of Darien, died Thursday, November 12, 2009, at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick. He was a graduate of Glennville High School, and attended Brunswick Junior College. It was during that time that he obtained his pilot’s license and went to work for the Department of Natural Resources. He later worked for his father, “Speed” Edenfield, at Darien Motor Company, and as a photographer at Bennie’s Red Barn. He was a member of the Live Oak Masonic Lodge in Darien and Alcoholics Anonymous. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence “Speed” and Virginia Edenfield. He is survived by a son, James Alexander “JAE” Edenfield III of Darien; sister, Barbara Edenfield Hutto of Marietta; niece, Susan Lang Hutto of Jacksonville; aunt, Emmie Sheffield of St. Mary’s; uncle and aunt, Calvin and Virginia Lang of St. Mary’s; cousins: Roy Lang, David Lang, Cal Lang, Cam Lang, Sherry Sutton, Gwendolyn Edenfield, Homer Edenfield, Mike Edenfield, and Mark Edenfield; a good friend, Butch Roundtree of Fernandina Beach, Florida; and a lifelong friend, Pinkie Brown of Glennville. Masonic Rites, including a service to celebrate his life, was held on Monday, November 16, at 2 p.m. at Darien United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Rob McDaniel officiating. The family requests no flowers and suggests that donations be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, Georgia 31525.
