Cliff Riner

Tattnall County Extension Agent Cliff Riner was recently promoted to Public Service Assistant.  Riner has been employed with UGA Cooperative Extension for three and one-half years, starting as a Public Service Representative.  The Public Service ranking system with the University of Georgia allows employees to compile a vita of their professional accomplishments every five years.  The assistant ranking can be achieved at the third year of employment.  Riner’s dossier of material passed three committees (District, College, and University levels), and recently obtained final approval from UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Dean, Dr. Scott Angle.
Riner was also elected State Winner for the Georgia Association of County Agricultural Agents (GACAA), receiving the “Young Professional Award.”  Riner received notification at the GACAA Annual Awards Banquet held last week.  He was declared Southeast District and State winner for this award.  The Young Professional award is given to County Agents with less than five years of experience, who demonstrate quality work and professional excellence.  Along with a plaque, Riner will be nominated for the National Young Professional Award, and receives an all expense paid trip to the National County Ag Agents meeting in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Mr. Riner would like to recognize all of the producers he has worked with over the past few years.
“I have been blessed to work in a county like Tattnall; we have some of the best farmers, and I have enjoyed the past few years,“ said Riner.
He would also like to thank the producers who wrote letters of recommendation on his behalf. These individuals include  Dr. Jim Strickland, Daniel Shuman, Reid Torrance, and Danny Durrence.
