Buddy Meeks
    James Marvin “Buddy” Meeks, age 56, died Monday, December 14, 2009, at Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia.  The Tattnall County native had lived in Collins all his life.  He was a self-employed carpenter, and was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local Union 256.  He was an avid horseman, and a member of the Rocky Creek Saddle Club.  He was preceded in death by his father, James Meeks; and his special Aunt Pud.
    He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Martha Green Meeks of Collins; two sons and daughters-in-law, Wesley and Amy Meeks of Collins and Brandon and Robin Meeks of Reidsville; daughter, Treasure Meeks, and her fiancé, Rodney “Frog” Boutwell, of Collins; mother, Christine Collins of Cobbtown; five sisters:  Ellen Meeks of California; Dale Green of Cobbtown; Linda Meeks and Sheryl Meeks, both of Collins; and Helen Meeks of West Palm Beach, Florida; special “brother,” Jimmy Cowart of Collins; brother, Tommy Meeks of West Palm Beach, Florida; four granddaughters:  Kayla, Dixie, and Karsyn Meeks and Summer Boutwell; and several nieces and nephews.
    Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, December 16, from Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 17, from the Reidsville Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home, with Bro. Robert Powell officiating.  Interment will follow in Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
    Pallbearers will be members of the Rocky Creek Saddle Club.
    Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home of Reidsville, Georgia, is in charge of the arrangements.
