Buford Knight
    Joseph Buford Knight, 82, died Friday, September 25, 2009, at Specialty Hospital of Jacksonville, Florida.  The Tattnall County native had lived in Jacksonville, Florida; Shelby, North Carolina; and Glennville for many years.  He was a U.S. Army veteran, and was retired from Georgia Department of Corrections at Georgia State Prison with the rank of major.  He was a member of the American Veterans Association; Shelby, North Carolina, Moose Lodge; and a member of Glennville First Christian Church.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Knight; and son, David Jolly.
    He is survived by children:  Brian Knight (Diane) of Glennville; Joey Knight of Vidalia; Becky Cowart of Ayden, North Carolina; and Anna Jane Knight of Alto; brother, Harry Knight of Glennville; sister, Modena K. Collins (Reggie) of Statesboro; sister-in-law, June Knight of Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren:  Blair Morgan, Jordan Knight, Jason Knight, Lauren Knight, and Cassi Knight; great-grandson, Jadan Knight; and several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 28, from the Chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home, with the Rev. Oscar Rowe, Jr., officiating, and a eulogy by Barry Knight.  Burial was in Glennville City Cemetery, with Military Honors
    Pallbearers were Jordan Knight, Terry Collins, Jay Knight, Teddy Blount, Barry Knight, and Steve Knight.
    Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home of Glennville, Georgia, was in charge of the arrangements.
