Allen Avant
Byron Allen Avant, 55, died December 9, 2009, at Toombs Nursing Home in Lyons. The Fulton County native moved to this area from Atlanta. He was employed as a machinist in the textile industry, and loved to play baseball, watch wrestling, and play video games with his son. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vera and Byron Avant.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Ann Baker Avant of Glennville; children, Christopher Avant and Jennifer Avant, both of Glennville; sister, Veronica Roberts of Glennville; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerrel and Bobby Baker of Glennville; brother-in-law, Bryan Baker (Anita) of Glennville; sisters-in-law, Melinda Hodges (Randy) of Claxton and Lisa Gulbrandson of Glennville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and burial will be private at a later date.
